Pickleball in Crescent City, Florida
Crescent City sits between Crescent Lake and Lake Stella in southern Putnam County, and its in-town pickleball option is Eva Lyon Park near the center of town. The City identifies pickleball as one of the park's recreation uses.
If you are looking for people to play with rather than simply an available court, nearby Welaka is the more useful option. Welaka Pickleball publishes recurring open play three mornings a week and specifically welcomes residents and visitors from South Putnam County.
Where to Play Pickleball in Crescent City
- Eva Lyon Park, 100 S. Summit St. The City of Crescent City identifies tennis and pickleball at this public downtown park. City parks are open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM from April through September and 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM from October through March, except when otherwise permitted for special events. A recurring pickleball open-play schedule is not published, so this location is most predictable when you arrange your own game. For current court questions, call the City at (386) 698-2525. Check Eva Lyon Park information.
- Welaka Pickleball, 409 Palmetto St., Welaka. This is outside Crescent City and is useful because it has published recurring open play. The local Welaka visitor organization lists play from 8:00 to 10:30 AM every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and welcomes residents and visitors from South Putnam County. Check Welaka Pickleball information.
- Town Hall Recreation Area, 400 4th Ave., Welaka. The Town of Welaka officially lists a pickleball court at this public recreation area, along with restrooms, a basketball court, bocce ball, picnic pavilion, playground, and fitness circuit. It provides another nearby public court option for South Putnam County players. Check Town of Welaka recreation facilities.
- John Theobold Complex, 120 Carter Road, Palatka. This Putnam County facility is farther from Crescent City and is useful as another public option when you are already traveling toward Palatka. The County lists tennis/pickleball courts along with restrooms and other sports facilities. Check Putnam County park information.
Getting Started

Open Play and Organized Pickleball
Welaka Pickleball provides the most useful recurring organized play near Crescent City, with open play scheduled Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 to 10:30 AM. The group serves players and visitors in South Putnam County, making it a practical option for Crescent City residents who want regular games instead of arranging their own foursome.
For Crescent City itself, use the City Parks and Recreation page for current park information. Putnam County also maintains recreation facilities throughout the county and can provide current information about activities at John Theobold Complex.
Visiting Crescent City and Looking for a Game?
If you already have partners, start at Eva Lyon Park. It keeps you in Crescent City and provides a City-listed public pickleball option during normal park hours. Bring your own playing equipment and do not assume other players will be waiting, since the City does not publish a standing open-play rotation there.
If you are traveling alone, check Welaka Pickleball first. Its Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning open play gives you a specific time and place to look for games, and the group explicitly welcomes visitors. That makes the short trip to Welaka more useful for a solo visitor than driving to another court without a published playing group.
